MOLAGAI PODI / SOUTH INDIAN DRY CHUTNEY POWDER

Molagai Podi is prepared by grinding dry spices coursely. A quick-to-make and best condiment for IDLI & DOSA!


INGREDIENTS:
Urad Dal - 1 cup
Channa Dal - 1/4 cup
Long Red Chillis - 6 to 10 (as per your taste buds)
Black Sesame - 1 tsp

Desiccated Coconut - 1 tbsp (Optional)
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Salt to Taste


METHOD:

  • Roast Urad dal, Channa Dal and Red Chillis seperately in little oil (Not Deep Fry).
  • Dry Roast Sesame  until it starts crackling and Asafoetida (Turn the flame off and just roast in the prevailing heat).
  • Let all the ingredients cool.
  • Grind all the ingredients (including Desiccated Coconut and Salt).
  • Add oil and Serve along with Hot Dosa/Idli.
